Refractories and Designs up to 1800°C

Rath Incorporated offers a broad line of refractories and design engineering services for the construction of kiln cars for application temperatures up to 1800°C. The Rath Incorporated product line includes dense, insulating and low mass fiber based products. Mortar free designs are available, using interlocking bricks, tongue-in-groove IFB and/or pre-fired castable shapes. Low mass designs are possible using combinations of fiber modules, fiber blanket and vacuum formed boards and shapes. Rath Incorporated can design cars suited for any type of kiln or application, with maximum durability, high load carrying capability and lowest possible thermal mass.

  Blankets and Modules – ALTRA® / Alsitra

• ALTRA® - Polycrystalline alumina or mullite ALTRA® fiber for applications up to 1650°C
• Alsitra - Ceramic fiber for applications up to 1300°C

  Interlocking Insulating Brick  - Porrath

• Male/female dimples, available in ASTM Grades 25 to 34
• Tongue-in-groove blocks, available in ASTM Grade 24 and 26

  Insulating Castable Shapes  - Carath FL

• Pre-fired, available for service temperatures up to 1800°C

  Vacuum Formed Boards and Shapes - KVS

• Full range of grades for application temps 1200°C to 1800°C, free of organic binder

 

Dense Refractory Material

  Interlocking Dense Brick  - Korrath, Silrath, Alurath, Suprath

• Male/female dimples
• Grades available include corundum, mullite, sillimanite, bauxite and fireclay, < 20% porosity

  Dense Castable Shapes – Carath

• Pre-fired, available for service temperatures up to 1800°C
• Regular, Low Cement and Ultra Low Cement formulations
